General Store Robbed!

December 20, 1865
Upon opening up the General Store it was discovered the strong box, which had a total of sixty-one dollars, had been stolen during the night. Miss Faith Andersen realized the theft as she went to make change for Missus Schicklegruben for her purchase of several tin toys.

Miss Andersen does not remember anything out of the ordinary, other than Doyce entered the store, with a bottle of tequila in hand to get warm. She recalls making him a bite to eat and they chatted by the fire until he left, after which, she closed the store. Miss Andersen remembers seeing no one in the area prior to her locking up and it was Deputy MacKenzie who escorted her to her home.

If anyone has any knowledge of this crime, please contact the Sheriff's department.

Lago Boxing Association

November 25, 1865
On Wednesday, Micheal Avery, and James Parker kicked off the Lago Boxing Association's first event, being held at the Buffalo Rose on Main Street. James Parker opened the event with an introduction of the first fight of the night, between Mister Zane Greiefen and Duncan MacKenzie.

The first fight lasted through three blows, with Duncan MacKenzie defeating the undertaker, Zane Greiefen handily, landing three punches, the elder man hit the floor, and was helped to the Doctor's office where he was brought to.

Micheal Avery took over the event after the first fight, introducing the next two contestants, David Jameson, and James Parker, himself. This fight lasted abit longer, lasting two minutes, Mister Jameson held out longer than Mister Greiefen in the first fight, but eventually succumbed to the expert footwork and thundering blows of James Parker.

The final match of the evening was announced to be the Lago Championship bout, between the two winners, Duncan MacKenzie, and James Parker. The third fight of the evening started out with Deputy MacKenzie landing several nasty blows to Parkers ribs. Parker rebounded by unleashing his thundering punches to MacKenzie's face. The fight went back and forth for quite a while, until Parker began to take control with his expert footwork. In the end, he threw several quick jabs, rendering MacKenzie unconscious, thereby securing the victory, and claiming for himself the Lago Championship.

It has been announced that another bout will be held next week to determine the number one contender, to fight James Parker in a title bout the following week. Anyone interested in being a part of the Lago Boxing Association, in any form, should contact Micheal Avery.

Carter Gunsmith Opening!

July 3, 1865
For weeks a team of a workers have hauled in stone, lumber, iron and mortar to build the impressive two-story structure on the lower part of Lago's second street. The buyer of the plot and employer of this team of men has remained a mystery through the entire process until now. Early today, it was learned that the building houses a fully-stocked gunsmithing workshop and store. While the foot-thick stone walls and iron-barred windows were curious enough, the shops owner is revealed to be a woman!

Gypsy Carter arrived in Lago the final day of the shop's construction riding in the lead wagon of a train carrying the shops tool and firearms inventory. After remaining hidden within the building for nearly a week preparing it for business she has declared the Carter Smithworks to be offically open for business.
